Each of us has a God-given desire to make a substantive impact in our world. We believe that every Christ-follower is called to reach out in Jesus’ name and we invite you to partner with us!  We’re making a real difference together through our relationship with the Covenant family of churches, in collaboration with our friends at Emmanuel Kingdom Ministries, and in countless other ways locally.

Local & Urban Engagement

Emmanuel has been committed to reaching out in substantive, tangible ways from day one. We played an instrumental role in launching Ace in the City, a community development organization in the Powderhorn neighborhood of Minneapolis. We have volunteers that regularly serve at First Covenant Homeless Shelter in Minneapolis. We have families that have walked alongside refugee families with Refugee Life Ministries. We have people who routinely go into both the Women’s Prison in Shakopee and the Lino Lakes Correctional Facility.

We have families who believe in being deeply involved in their local, public schools . We have people with a passion for the local Muslim community. We have those involved in programs that promote emotional healing, such as Boundaries and DivorceCare. And we have people with a heart for those with deep questions and are a part of Alpha courses.

God is on the move and there are so many ways you can be involved in sharing His love and the message of the Gospel. We desire to be a part of transformation and healing. We need it. Others need it. Our communities need it. We realize this takes time. Let’s do the hard work of long-term relationships to make it happen.
