We invite you to join with millions of believers around the globe as we observe a season called Lent. Lent is a time of focused repentance and reflection that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends right before Easter.
Lent (History)
Good Friday Services, April 15
On Good Friday we will commemorate one of history’s darkest nights, and celebrate all that God accomplished through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
In-Person Services
This year we will be offering two Good Friday services at the Shoreview Community Center on Friday, April 15 Service times will be 6:00 and 7:30pm.

Easter Sunday Services, April 17
Celebrate Easter with us. 
This Easter promises to be an Easter like no other.
In-Person Services
This year we will be offering three in-person services at the Shoreview Community Center . Service times will be 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00am at the Shoreview Community Center.
Online Services
Online Easter services will be available starting at 7:00am right here on our website, on YouTube, or at Facebook.com/emmanuelcovenant.
Almsgiving for Lent
Emmanuel Children’s Home
Almsgiving is the act of giving to those in need as a tangible expression of Christian love. This year the focus of our giving is going to toward the Emmanuel Children’s Home in Juarez, Mexico. Emmanuel Children’s Home is an oasis of hope in one of the world’s most dangerous cities. They provide a loving, safe, and God-centered home for some fo Juarez’s most vulnerable children.

Make a One-time Gift:
Give a one-time donation that will make a lasting impact in the life of a child in need. A recurring donation will help us provide stability to our children as we can anticipate and depend upon it.
Sponsor a Child:
$45.00 / month – Sponsor Now
Not only will you provide for a child’s needs, but you will be able to interact with your child and develop a real relationship that will bless both you and child. Just $45 a month joins you with 5 other sponsors to provide for his or her care in our children’s home.
You may consider giving more to help with the complete cost of their care in our home ($270 a month per child) and their educational costs in our school ($100 a month per child).

LENT DAILY READINGS | Start now
We want to prepare our hearts and minds for this Lent season by reading the same passage of Luke and devotionals each day. Then, when we gather for worship, around the dinner table, or in our Small Churches, we can share with one another how we are hearing from God; listening with other listeners. The reading plan is free and is available from Bible.com. You can start it anytime you want but we would love to time it so that we are all doing it together for the 49 Days before Good Friday.

Consider a Fast
We invite you to fast with us this Lent. We invite those who are able to fast from food from sunrise to sunset on Fridays during Lent. We also invite you to fast prior to communion on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
Biblical fasting is focused. The focal point of this Lenten fast is reconciliation. Pray for our world, our nation, our communities, our church, and your relationships. Feel free to use a prayer like this:
“God, help me to understand more deeply the price that You paid to reconcile us to Yourself and what it means to be Your ambassador in this broken world. Bring to mind the ways in which I’ve contributed to this brokenness and show me what repentance looks like. I also lay my relationship with _____________ before You. Reveal any actions that You would have me take and go before me in Jesus’ Name.”
We also encourage everyone to develop a media plan for your household. Prayerfully consider changing your Lenten media consumption in a manner that:
- Creates more time and space to reflect deeply on God’s Word
- Limits or eliminates content that isn’t God-honoring
- Limits or eliminates content that’s divisive in nature
